A woman is asked to remove her makeup during immigration at Hangzhou Airport in eastern China. A viral video shows the bizarre situation.
According to the New York Post, an incident occurred at Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport in eastern China in which a woman from Shanghai was forced to remove her heavy makeup after a facial scanner had difficulty verifying her identity.
The viral video shows the young woman, ashamed, cleaning her face with wipes under the guidance of an airport employee. Meanwhile, the airport employee continues to scold her behind the camera.
"Wipe everything off until you look like your passport photo," the alleged employee demands. "Why are you wearing that makeup? You're just asking for trouble." Whether she ultimately made it through security remains unclear.
Officials detained her for 40 minutes to verify her identity. Prazeres, who was on her way to the United States, explained: "I always knew this could happen at some point because my appearance has changed a lot over the years."
- Anyone wearing wide skirts is guaranteed to be searched by security guards.
- Cargo pants are also a thorn in the side of security officers because of their many pockets.
- Jewelry and hair clips are also unsuitable because they trigger an alarm on the metal detector.
